A weekly competitor and neighborhood report for gyms and fitness studios

AlleyPulse is a weekly neighborhood intelligence email that also works for gyms and fitness studios. Every Monday it lists what changed within 1 km of your gym: nearby gyms posting offers, rating moves, new and closed listings and local events, each with a suggested action.

Last updated: 27 October 2026

What does it do for a gym?

Gyms and studios choose Other as the business type in the address form. The Google Maps based items work the same for a gym: competitor posts and promos, rating and review count changes, new listings and closures. The search interest and trade headline items are less tailored for Other than for the named types. It costs $29 per month per shop, the first issue is free, and you can cancel anytime.

What will I see each Monday?

  • Competitor offers: public posts and promos from nearby gyms and studios, read from their Google Maps listings and public social posts.
  • Rating and review changes: a nearby studio whose rating moves after a burst of reviews, with summarized themes, never quoted reviews.
  • New and closed listings: a gym or studio that appears on Google Maps near you, or one marked closed on Google. New listing does not mean opened.
  • Local events and news: public events and notices near you, such as a charity run or a road closure on your route.
  • Weather: the week's forecast, with what it means for outdoor classes.

What does an item look like?

Fictional examples of what an issue contains for a gym. Every real item also carries a dated source link.

What does it not do?

  • Gyms use the Other business type, so search interest and industry headlines are less tailored.
  • It does not track membership prices or class timetables, and it does not count members.
  • It only sees businesses listed on Google Maps, and it is weekly, not instant.

Choose Other as the business type when you enter your address. Every source and its limits.

Questions gym owners ask

Is there local competitor tracking for a small gym or fitness studio?

Yes. AlleyPulse works for any business with a street address on Google Maps. Choose Other as the business type for a gym. You get nearby competitor posts and promos, rating and review count changes, and new and closed listings in a weekly email.

Which business type should a gym choose?

Choose Other in the address form. The listing based items are the same for every type. The search interest and industry headline items are less tailored for Other than for the named types.

Can it show me competitor membership prices?

No. AlleyPulse is not a price tracker. It reports offers that nearby businesses post publicly, rating and review count changes, new and closed listings, local events and news, search interest and the weather.

Will it tell me when a new gym opens near me?

It tells you when a gym appears on Google Maps near you for the first time. That is not a confirmed opening, so the item says new on Google Maps near you. New and closed items start in issue 2.

Is it suitable for a boutique studio with a small radius?

Yes. Choose a radius of 0.5, 1 or 2 km. A dense city street may suit 0.5 km, while a studio in a quiet area may need 2 km to find enough nearby businesses.

How much does AlleyPulse cost for a gym?

$29 USD per month for each shop, billed monthly, and you can cancel anytime. The first issue of every shop is free, and a free sample report is available for any supported address. There is no setup fee and no contract.

How do I start with AlleyPulse for my gym?

Enter your gym's address on the home page, choose a radius of 0.5, 1 or 2 km and ask for the free sample. The first weekly issue is a baseline of what is around you today, and changes appear from issue 2.

Can I use AlleyPulse for more than one gym?

Yes. One account can hold many shops, each with its own address, radius and recipients. Each shop is its own $29 per month subscription, so two shops are $58 per month.
