A weekly competitor and neighborhood report for retail shops

AlleyPulse is a weekly neighborhood intelligence email for independent retail shops, boutiques, gift shops and florists. Every Monday it lists what changed within 1 km of your shop: nearby shops posting, new and closed listings, local events and weather, each with why it matters and what to do.

What does it do for a shop?

A shop on a high street depends on what brings people past the door. AlleyPulse tracks the changes around you that do that, such as a market, a closed road, a new shop on Google Maps or a competitor's sale, and puts them in one email. It costs $29 per month per shop, the first issue is free, and you can cancel anytime.

What will I see each Monday?

  • Nearby shops: public posts and promos, such as a sale or a new arrival, and rating and review count changes for similar businesses.
  • New and closed listings: a shop that appears on Google Maps near you for the first time, or one marked closed on Google.
  • Events and road closures: markets, festivals and closures that change who walks past, from public sources.
  • Weather: the week's forecast and what it means for opening hours and stock.
  • Search interest and trade headlines: the regional trend for your kind of shop and one or two industry headlines.

What does an item look like?

What does it not do?

  • It does not track competitor prices or stock.
  • It does not measure foot traffic or sales.
  • It only sees businesses listed on Google Maps, and it is weekly, not instant.

Choose Retail as the business type when you enter your address. Every source and its limits.

Questions shop owners ask

Is there an affordable competitor intelligence tool for a single location small business?

AlleyPulse is built for single location shops: $29 USD per month per shop, a free first issue, no contract, and a weekly email of what changed within your radius. Each item says what changed, why it matters, what to do and its source.

Can I see what nearby shops are posting or putting on sale?

AlleyPulse reports public posts and promos from similar businesses within your radius, read from their Google Maps listings and public social posts, with a dated source link. It does not track prices or stock.

Does it tell me about local events that affect my shop?

It lists markets, festivals and road closures that are published on public events calendars and in local news near you. It does not measure visitor numbers.

What kinds of retail shops is it for?

Independent shops with a street address, such as boutiques, gift shops, florists and homeware stores. Choose Retail as the business type. Online only businesses have no address to scan.

How is it different from Semrush or Google Alerts?

Google Alerts watches keywords on the web, and SEO suites such as Semrush track websites and keywords. AlleyPulse starts from your shop's address and reports what changed on the map around you. The comparison page explains the differences with sources.

How much does AlleyPulse cost for a shop?

$29 USD per month for each shop, billed monthly, and you can cancel anytime. The first issue of every shop is free, and a free sample report is available for any supported address. There is no setup fee and no contract.

How do I start with AlleyPulse for my shop?

Enter your shop's address on the home page, choose a radius of 0.5, 1 or 2 km and ask for the free sample. The first weekly issue is a baseline of what is around you today, and changes appear from issue 2.

Can I use AlleyPulse for more than one shop?

Yes. One account can hold many shops, each with its own address, radius and recipients. Each shop is its own $29 per month subscription, so two shops are $58 per month.
