A weekly competitor and neighborhood report for salons and barbershops

AlleyPulse is a weekly neighborhood intelligence email for hair salon, barbershop, nail and beauty business owners. Every Monday it lists what changed within 1 km of your shop: what nearby salons posted, rating moves, new and closed listings and local events, each with a suggested action.

Last updated: 27 October 2026

What does it do for a salon?

Salons and barbershops compete on trust and on the offers people see on their phone. AlleyPulse tells you when a nearby salon posts a new offer, when its rating moves, and when a new salon appears on Google Maps near you. It costs $29 per month per shop, the first issue is free, and you can cancel anytime.

What will I see each Monday?

  • Competitor offers: public posts and promos from nearby salons and barbershops, read from their Google Maps listings and public social posts.
  • Rating and review changes: a nearby salon whose rating moves after a burst of reviews, with summarized themes, never quoted reviews.
  • New and closed listings: a salon, barbershop or nail bar that appears on Google Maps near you, or one marked closed on Google. New listing does not mean opened.
  • Local events and news: public events and notices that change who is in your area.
  • Search interest: the regional trend for hair, beauty and nail related searches, as a relative trend.

What does an item look like?

Fictional examples of what an issue contains for a salon. Every real item also carries a dated source link.

What does it not do?

  • It does not track prices or booking availability.
  • It does not manage reviews or your Google Maps ranking.
  • It only sees businesses listed on Google Maps, and it is weekly, not instant.

Choose Salon as the business type when you enter your address. Hair, beauty, barber and nail listings are all read as salons for the nearby comparison. Every source and its limits.

Questions salon owners ask

Is there a tool that shows me what other hair salons in my neighborhood are doing each week?

Yes. AlleyPulse is a weekly email that reports public posts and promos from nearby salons, rating and review count changes, and new or closed listings within your radius, with a dated source link for each item.

Is there an app that alerts me when a new salon or barbershop opens near mine?

AlleyPulse tells you when a salon or barbershop appears on Google Maps near you for the first time. That is not the same as a confirmed opening, so the item says new on Google Maps near you. It is a weekly email, not an instant alert.

Does it work for barbershops and nail salons?

Yes. Choose Salon as the business type. Hair, beauty, barber and nail listings are all read as salons for the nearby comparison.

How can I find out when another salon nearby runs a promotion?

AlleyPulse reports promotions that nearby salons publish on their Google Maps listings and public social posts. It will not see offers sent privately or posted only in a closed group.

Does AlleyPulse show competitor prices?

No. It is not a price tracker. It reports offers and posts that nearby businesses publish, rating and review count changes, new and closed listings, local events and search interest.

How much does AlleyPulse cost for a salon?

$29 USD per month for each shop, billed monthly, and you can cancel anytime. The first issue of every shop is free, and a free sample report is available for any supported address. There is no setup fee and no contract.

How do I start with AlleyPulse for my salon?

Enter your salon's address on the home page, choose a radius of 0.5, 1 or 2 km and ask for the free sample. The first weekly issue is a baseline of what is around you today, and changes appear from issue 2.

Can I use AlleyPulse for more than one salon?

Yes. One account can hold many shops, each with its own address, radius and recipients. Each shop is its own $29 per month subscription, so two shops are $58 per month.
